REV SAM KUNA

President

Rev Sam Kuna is an Associate Professor and Dean of the School of Counseling with TCA College, Singapore. He majored in Psychology and has a clinical Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Family & Child Counselling from California, USA. He is a Fellow Member, a Registered Counsellor, and Registered Clinical Supervisor and Co-Chair of the Ethics Board of the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC).
He is a member of the Association of Marital & Family Therapy (Singapore) (AMFTS), a Certified Master Addiction Therapist and Board member of the Asia Pacific Certification Board (APCB).

Sam serves as the Executive Secretary of the Asia Christian Counselling Association, Incorporated (ACCA, Inc.) and sits on the Organizing Committee of the Christian Mental Health Conference.
He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God of Singapore.

DAVID BLAKELY

Vice-President

David Blakely is a follower of Jesus. He is a Registered Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Association for Counselling, and has 27 years of experience in the counselling field. ​

David has worked in the church, community and prison environments, and has been called to glorify God by being present with people as they heal and grow, while guiding others to do the same. This includes a passion for the mental and emotional wellbeing of Christian leaders and counsellors. He looks forward to helping strengthen our safe Christian community, so that leaders and counsellors can heal while remaining leaders themselves.

ABIGAIL LEE

Honorary Secretary

Abigail Lee is the Executive Director of Healing Hearts Centre, and the current President of the Association for Play Therapy (Singapore). She is a Registered Counsellor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor, Certified Circle of Security Facilitator, Certified TraumaPlay Therapist-Supervisor, and a Certified Adlerian Play Therapist-Advanced and Teacher.
Abigail has been in counselling practice for more than 15 years and specializes in working with children and families. She believes in the healing powers of play and utilises play and expressive arts therapy during her sessions. She is passionate about training and supervising play therapy practitioners and heads up the Adlerian Play Therapy and Adlerian Sand Tray Play Therapy certification programs in Singapore.
Abigail loves a good cup of mocha and spending time chilling with her husband and their adorable standard poodle, Coco!

DOREEN LIM

Assistant Secretary

Doreen holds a Bachelor in Psychology and Management which   enables her to have better understanding of human behaviour and organisational structure. She was working as a manager in a residential home for young females ages 18-25 for the last 8 years and prior to that, was the administrator in Teen Challenge, overseeing administration, HR (including payroll) and events management (fund raising).
Doreen hopes to utilise her administrative and organisational skills to support the Christian community of counsellors and practitioners so that they may better meet the needs of diverse communities.

CHUA NGA WOON

Honorary Treasurer

Nga Woon started her counselling training with CWR, Asia. She has recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Counselling from the Singapore Bible College. She is passionate about people helping ministries as she believes that her own life experiences have prepared her to be used by God to encourage and journey with people facing various challenges in life.
Nga Woon has retired from her previous careers in the Information Technology and Education sectors. She has been serving as a volunteer counsellor with social service organizations and a local church.

DR JOYCE CHAN
Assistant Treasurer

Dr. Joyce Chan graduated with a PhD (Management) from the University of Canberra and specialises in work relating to the correctional system in Singapore. She has more than 25 years of experience in the social work sector and is currently in the public service.
Dr. Joyce is a Master Clinical Member and a Registered Clinical Supervisor with the Singapore Association for Counselling. She holds professional membership with the Association for Christian Counselling (Singapore) and is a Registered Social Service Practitioner with the
Singapore Social Work Association. Dr. Joyce is also an Associate Licensed Minister with Assemblies of God Singapore.
In her academic capacity, she does adjunct work with several universities and regularly publishes journal articles pertaining to counselling and corrections.

ALISON LAI
Committee Member

Alison is a Third Culture Kid who spent more than a third of her life living outside of Singapore in UK, India, Australia and USA. Being a school counsellor at an International School is familiar for her and she is also passionate about working with young people. She is married to Paul and mother to 4 children who span the tween, teen and young adult age groups. The family attend The Bible Church, Singapore where she also serves on the counselling ministry leadership team. Previously a clinical counsellor at church, she started her counselling journey with a Masters from Singapore Bible College.

REV LIM POH CHENG

Committee Member

Poh Cheng currently serves in TCA College's School of Counseling as a faculty member, and she is a registered clinical counselor. She has been part of the pastoral team in her local church Trinity Christian Centre, Singapore for more than ten years. Her involvement in the pastoral counseling ministry includes training and coaching ministry leaders to minister to the congregants. Poh Cheng has a Master of Counselling (Advanced) from Swinburne University of Technology, and a Master of Arts in Ministry from TCA College. She is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God, Singapore.
Poh Cheng loves her coffee and ice-cream, and she exercises regularly to burn off the effects of these indulgences.

DR PENNY QUEK
Committee Member

Penny holds a Ph.D. in Counselling and Psychological Studies from Regent University (USA) and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling from Singapore Bible College (SBC). She currently serves as the Superintendent of SBC's School of Counseling (English), where she oversees the school’s operations and academic direction. Beyond academia, Penny regularly conducts training and talks on various topics such as mental health, parenting, relationships, communication, and lay counselling for organisations and churches. In ministerial work, Penny is actively engaged in Adam Road Presbyterian Church's Mental Wellness Ministry. Her experiences living in the UK, USA, and Australia have shaped her cross-cultural sensitivity and enriched her ability to foster connections within Singapore’s diverse Christian community. Married for over three decades, she is a proud mother of three adult children and a doting grandmother.

PASTOR PETER SHANNON

Committee Member

Peter Shannon is a pastor at International Baptist Church, Singapore. He is British but lived in Taiwan for almost twenty years. His wife, Sherry, is from Taiwan, and she teaches Mandarin. Peter ministered at a Baptist church in Taipei for five years before coming to Singapore and undertaking a Master of Arts in Counselling at Singapore Bible College. He graduated in 2019 and, since then, has been ministering in the capacity of Pastor for Care and Prayer at International Baptist Church, Singapore.

DR JULIA LAM

Internal Auditor

Julia is a forensic psychologist in private practice. She also lectures on topics of impulse control disorders, behavioural addictions and forensic psychology. She provides consultation, forensic psychological assessment and reports on medico-legal issues relating to criminal, civil and family matters for Court purposes. A scientist-practitioner, she has worked in universities, hospitals, prisons and correction services, gambling treatment facilities and private clinics. She enjoys needlework (blackwork in particular), drumming, Zentangling, and catching up with friends over a yummy meal and a mug of hot chai tea latte + a slice of cheesecake.
